Drug and Alcohol Information- Narcotics Anonymous (NA) -OverviewNarcotics Anonymous (NA) is a self-help program of recovery for addicts, regardless of substances used. Its members are men and women of all ages and from many different social, economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. NA uses the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), but its program is not affiliated with AA or with any sect, denomination, organization, or institution. Many NA members use the Twelve Steps of recovery as a guideline for developing a satisfying life without the use of narcotics or other mind-altering drugs, including alcohol. Members attend meetings where they share their experiences, strengths, and hopes with others who are also recovering from drug addiction. NA is a place to learn from the successful experience of others. Additional InformationFor more information, see Narcotics Anonymous at (www.na.org), or contact your local chapter, which is listed in the telephone book.Back to Chemical Dependency Treatment |
