ALATEEN
Overview
Alateen is a fellowship of young members of Al-Anon, usually teenagers,
whose lives have been affected by someone's drinking. As in Al-Anon, young people share their
experience, strength, and hope with each other to recover from the effects of living with the
problem drinking of a relative or friend. Members learn effective ways to cope with their problems
while receiving support and encouragement.
The Al-Anon/Alateen program is based on The
Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Al-Anon/Alateen is not affiliated with A.A., nor allied with any sect, denomination, organization, or
institution.
